Anna-Mari Leppisaari is a Lecturer in Textile Design at Aalto University in Finland, and also works internationally as a freelance knitwear and textile designer. She holds an MA in Fashion and Clothing Design and her works range from experimental artistic collaborations to commercial designs. She is one of the writers of an awarded book Interwoven- exploring materials and structures, which introduces a new pedagogical method for woven textile design studies.
Anna-Mari’s experience includes working in Italy for high-end clients in fashion and interior textiles and collaborating with Japanese, Dutch and Finnish clients and textile manufacturers. Her designs have been exhibited at various international exhibitions and fairs in Europe and Asia. Anna-Mari’s expertise lies in knitwear design, woven fashion fabrics and textile finishing. She is passionate about combining deep knowledge in textile traditions to new technologies.
