Virtual Knitting
KNITWEAR LAB - SHOWROOM during Womenswear Fashion Week in Paris.
The Virtual Knitting project explores the possibilities of virtual knitting, and the ways it could make the knitwear design process more sustainable and streamlined. The knitwear collection is designed by Anna-Mari Leppisaari and created in collaboration with KNITWEAR LAB and their Virtual Knitting Team. The collection is presented in both physical and virtual form.
Anna-Mari believes that haptic knowledge, gained through hands-on experimentation, is a perfect foundation for utilising Virtual Knitting technology. The collection developed by Anna-Mari focuses on playing with adjustable ribbons, gradients and herringbone motifs, translated from weaving to knitting.
Anna-Mari’s work is supported by Alfred Kordelin Foundation and Finnish Cultural Foundation.
Knitwear development by KNITWEAR LAB made with use of the latest Create software by KM.ON and the flatbed knitting machines from STOLL by KARL MAYER.
